A few small dings in the crook, but nothing major. The dent pictured in the barrel by the hand grip does not affect the movement of the slide at all. It looks like a professionally done repair.

There is a patch on the lower slide outer tube. But the slide moves pretty well as is and could easily be used as a back up or a slide for a second horn. There is some slight wear on the inner slide stockings. I did some dent work on the outer slide and it slides pretty well right now. I bought the whole trombone and was doing some dent work on the bell and somebody stole the bell from my back yard! So now I have a slide and no bell for it. Up for auction is this Conn 6H trombone slide. No mouthpiece is included in this auction, but if you are interested in a vintage Elkhart Conn, you probably have your own mouthpiece already. more Tuning slide dents have been removed and the tuning slide moves free and easy. A few scars remain and some of the dents just aren't in places that would impact the sound of the instrument that much. The bell has had some pretty serious denting but is OK right now. There is surprisingly no loss of plating on the stockings and the slide is fast and smooth.

I bought this from someone on Ebay who said he was a tuba player and I guess he just didn't know that the outer slide was not supposed to be dented and bowed! So I did a lot of work to bring the slide back to near perfect working order and would not even hesitate to take the instrument out on a pro gig now. The latches still close and hold the case shut but don't spring up when opening the case. But the springs on the latches are not working. Has original hard case which is in pretty good shape.
